Terms of Service

Last updated: March 9, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Collect ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Collect is an automated invoice dispute resolution platform for freelancers and independent contractors. The Service sends escalation emails to your clients on your behalf, generates demand letter templates, provides small claims court filing information, and syncs invoice data from connected accounting platforms.

3. Not a Law Firm

Collect is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The Service provides automated tools and document templates for informational purposes only. Escalation emails, demand letters, and small claims court information generated by the platform do not constitute legal advice. You should consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction before taking any legal action.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all invoice amounts, client information, and dispute details you provide.
  • You warrant that you have a legitimate, good-faith basis for each dispute you create.
  • You agree not to use the Service to harass, threaten, or send fraudulent communications.
  • You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction regarding debt collection and communications.
  • You agree that emails sent through the Service are sent on your behalf and you accept responsibility for their content.

5. Pricing & Payments

Your first dispute is free. Subsequent disputes cost $9.00 USD each, payable via Stripe before dispute activation. Referral credits may provide additional free disputes. All payments are non-refundable once a dispute has been activated and the first escalation email has been sent.

6. Accounting Integrations

You may connect third-party accounting platforms (FreshBooks, QuickBooks, Xero, Wave) to automatically import invoices. By connecting an integration, you authorize Collect to access your invoice and customer data in read-only mode. You can disconnect integrations at any time from Settings. We do not modify data on connected platforms.

7. Email Delivery

Collect sends emails on your behalf but cannot guarantee delivery. Email delivery depends on recipient server policies, spam filters, and other factors outside our control. Read receipts and open tracking are approximate and not guaranteed to be accurate.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Collect and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. No Guarantee of Results

Collect does not guarantee that using the Service will result in payment from your clients. Dispute outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including the validity of your claim and your client's willingness to pay.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used for fraudulent purposes, or generate excessive abuse complaints from email recipients.

11. Intellectual Property

The Collect platform, including its design, code, and email templates, is owned by us. You retain ownership of all data you provide (invoices, client information, dispute details). Documents generated by the Service (demand letters, emails) may be used freely by you for their intended purpose.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
